James Dorer has served as the Scottsdale Unified School District’s Chief Security Officer since 2010 after retiring from a 20 year career with the Scottsdale Police Department. Mr. Dorer spent over 10 years of his police career as part of the Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team as both operator and team leader, and supervised the Department’s School Resource Unit. In addition to his role at SUSD, Mr. Dorer is an adjunct instructor for the State of Arizona’s Division of Emergency Management, and a member of the Arizona Department of Education’s School Emergency Response Advisory Council
